MATERIALS
Selected high quality woods that undergo the following treatments:
- NATURAL SEASONING, consists in positioning the piles of wood so that the sun and the wind naturally dry them
- TREATMENT IN DRYING PLANTS, used to achieve the degree of humidity suitable for processing
PROCESSING TECHNIQUES
We use ancient processing techniques. All joints can be dovetail or interlocking. The planing is done strictly by hand and antiqued with fake woodworms and cuts always made by hand.The drawings of the various inlays and carvings are designed by us. The carvings in a first step are made by a pantograph and then processed entirely by hand.
PAINTING AND FINISHING
For painting all our furniture we use a non-toxic water-based dye.
The finish is made using antique wax or shellac, except in case of lacquering. The aging of all internal and external surfaces is achieved manually.
MAINTENANCE
For the care of the furniture we recommended to use only beeswax or antique wax at least once every six months in order to maintain the right level of humidity in the wood. Avoid contact with heat sources, in particular for the tables the use of a protective cloth under the tablecloth is always recommended.
Our finish is open pore. This means the wood is not completely isolated remaining sensitive to moisture and contact with liquids. Therefore, in case of contact with liquids or steam, a good rule is to dry it immediately.
